Palio della Cuccagna dell'Adriatico 2022

On Saturday 9 July 2022, starting at 9.30 pm on the Leonardesco canal port, the traditional event of Cesenatico, the Palio della Cuccagna , will take place and will feature slips, tumbles, splashes of water and stadium cheer.

Seven teams from different locations on the Adriatic coast ( Casalborsetti, Marina di Ravenna, Gatteo, Savignano sul Rubicone and Cesenatico) will compete on a pole covered with grease almost 14 meters long, placed obliquely on the water of the Porto Canale.

Before falling into the water, each participant should be able to remove some grease to help the other "cuccagnotti" reach the top of the tree more easily.

It is therefore a balancing act mixed with cunning, with the aim of winning the Cuccagna, a laurel wreath with cheeses, meats and other delicacies accompanied by a cash prize.
